Ace Speedway season will start with a bang. The first race will be the Dave’s Discount Furniture Warehouse 210. It will be a 100 lap event for Late Models. Bonus money will be awarded for the eight 100 lap events for the Budweiser Challenge 100. For the Mini Stocks it will be a 50 lap event with $500.00 to win along with the regular Limited Sportsman, Xtreme and Southern Ground Pounders classes.
Also included in this years events are STPA Tractor Pulls, a National Concert May 10th, and car shows. More detailed information will be coming about these events.
We have returning our regular stars, defending Champion Rodney Cook, Dustin Rumley, Robert Turner, Speedy Faucette, Jesse Ingle, Scotty Warren, and Dean Fogleman. Included in these will be Todd Massey who is planning on being with us but is still working out details on which team he will be with at this time. Former competitor and local fan favorite R.D. Smith will be returning to the wheel of his Late Model after a brief absence from racing. We were pleased to receive information that Dane Rudolph has signed a deal with Sellers Racing to run Ace Speedway for the 2008 Nascar Whelen All American Series.
Don Cook and Richard Bailey will be moving to the Modified division and are sure to be tough competitors for the likes of Roy Cook, defending Champion Brad Allen, Jason Cook and Thomas Scott. Also returning to racing is Phil Bryant who will be competing in the Modified division.
For the fans that have been with us a while, if you remember Steve Hatley that was very successful in our Super Stock class, he will be returning this year with his son at the wheel and Steve as owner and crew chief in the Limited Sportsman Division.
There are just too many good things happening and too many good stories developing to get it all in one press release. There will be more information coming as we kick off our 2008 season. Please plan on joining us at Ace Speedway for one of the most exciting seasons planned. Below is our schedule for 2008.
