Speedy Returns To Victory Lane 5/3/08 |

ALTAMAHAW, N.C Speedy Faucette from Mebane returned to the winners circle Friday night at Ace Speedway. The Late Model race was one of the most exciting so far of the year with the best good field of cars and lots of action. Good, hard, short track racing showed with Faucette in victory lane with parts dangling off the car. Points leader Robert Turner and front runner Jason York both experience mechanical problems. Rodney Cook, last years Champ finished in the second position with last weeks winner, Dean Fogleman of Burlington finishing third. Jessie Ingle had his best run of the season taking the fourth position. Scotty Warren of Burlington topped out the top five. Gary Young, Jr. of Burlington picked up the win in the 25-lap Modified race. He was followed by Pfafftown’s Randy Butner, Mebane’s Roy Cook, Thomas Scott of Corbett Ridge and Don Cook of Mebane. Josh Lowder of Archdale won in the Limited Sportsman division. It was Josh’s first career win at Ace. Burlington’s Ziggy Zimmerman finished second and Bobby Griffin of Eden finished third. Thomasville’s Michael Tucker won the 20 lap Mini Stock race. This was Michael’s second victory of the year. Jason Cook from Mebane and Archie Sanders of Mocksville rounded out the top three. Other winners from Friday night were Jeremy Crouse and Ben Walker in the twin X-treme classes and Burlington’s Jerry King in the Flathead Ford division.
